August 02, 2007   Brethren:  The next stated communications of Ideal Lodge No. 367, will be on Tuesday, August 7, & 21, 2007.  Regular business is scheduled at both meetings.  Meetings are held at Livingston Lodge Hall, corner of E. Morris & S. Cypress Sts., Hammond, LA.  Refreshments will precede the meetings at 6:30 p.m.; with Regular business at both meetings at 7:30 p.m., so come and enjoy the activities.  Also this month, we (Ideal Lodge), will host the Eighteenth Masonic District Meeting on August 29, 2007.  Arthur M. Retif Lodge No. 473, at 946 Jefferson Hwy, Jefferson, LA will allow us to use their Lodge Hall and paraphernalia for the meeting held at 7:30 pm.  Dinner will precede the meeting at 6:30 pm.

Our June 5th Bring-A-Friend Night was covered by the Master above.  Above and beyond the six prospective candidates, we also received a set of 11 Officer Aprons, an Altar Bible and four Rod Jewels, all donated by WB Ralph A. McDonald, PM.  The Bible Jewels are back ordered but are paid for too.  WB Lupo made the presentation for Capt McDonald, because his health prevented him from making the trip to Hammond.  This was well over $1,000.00 donation!  The Lodge Members signed a card thanking the Captain for his generous donation to the Lodge.  Also on this night we received two Plural Petitions! 

On June 19th a visiting Brother, Robert Compitello, Gainsville Lodge No. 41, Gainsville, FL gave a report on a visit to "The Day The War Stopped" in St. Francisville, LA.  WB Skip Perez, Sec, DGL, WB John Rodi, WB Fred Falgout & Bro. Compitello all drove to St. Francisville, LA and witnessed the Annual Ceremony, which consisted of a parade and the reenactment of the burial of a Confederate Soldier.  The Master also gave us a tour of the Lodge Hall and was quite knowledgeable about the history of St. Francisville Lodge.  We were quite pleased with the event and plan to attend next year too. 

On July 3rd the two Plural Petitions on WB John J. Rodi, Jr., PM & Bro. Luke J. Catalanatto were found Favorable!  This brings our membership total to 35! 

• On June 22, 2007 Bro. Daniel L. Hingle passed away due to a massive heart attack.  He was 46.

• Bro. Robert “Bobby” Bache has heart problems and had to undergo a three vessel by-pass.  He is at home now and recuperating well.  He is currently looking for a home in the Hammond/Ponchatoula area.

• Rt. W. James P. Allen, DDGM 19th District is still having problems with his medication, which makes him dizzy.  He attends meetings when he feels good.

Brothers, your 2006 Dues Cards are EXPIRED!  We still have six (6) members that have not paid for this year!  Brethren, your dues are due at the first of the year, not the end of the year!  How do you expect us to run the Lodge and pay rent, per capita and other expenses, with some of the Brothers holding back until after September of each year?  Please remit your dues to IDEAL LODGE No. 367, 12108 Coles Creek Blvd., Hammond, LA 70403-2024.  Dues are still $45.50 per year.  Please remember to add your optional 2¢ worth a day for an additional $7.30.  Please make check in the amount of $52.80.
