the year is almost half over! Thanks
to the Brothers that attended the 18th Masonic District Meeting
on June 25th hosted by Osiris-Trowel-Fidelity Lodge No. 300. Ideal tied with two other Lodges for third place for the
Traveling Gavel Award! Thanks
to the Brothers who cared and helped with our attendance. On Sunday, June 27th, Jerusalem Shrine Center held a Bring A Friend Social. Ideal Lodge won a beautiful plaque by having the most friends present that were non-Masons. Total there were 37 Lodge represented with 95 Masonic Brothers present, 16 men who were non-Masons; a Total of 160 people attended this function. Congratulations to Ideal Lodge No. 367 and thanks to WB Ronald Milliet, PM who brought two (2) friends and to WB Skip Perez, Sec., for bringing his cousin to the Bring A Friend Social. S.
Wayne Lee, PM, WM. REPORT
ON PREVIOUS MEETINGS: At our May 12th
meeting, E.A. Brother Armando Kristopher Perez stood an excellent exam in
the esoteric work, by examining himself, reciting the questions and then
the answers. We then
conducted a Fellow Craft Degree on Brother Kristopher Perez.
On this night the weather was really bad and we still had quite a
number of Brothers present for the degree.
Special thanks to all the Brothers that attended and took part in
this degree. Brother Kris
Perez was quite impressed with Dorman Haefele, W.M. of Daylight Lodge No.
412, when he delivered the Stair Case Lecture. On May 26th F. C. Brother Armando Kristopher Perez stood an excellent exam in the esoteric work, by examining himself, reciting the questions and then the answers. We then conferred the Master Mason’s degree on Armando Kristopher Perez. There 42 members and visitors present and the degree went GREAT. The degree team did a fantastic job and the degree was second to none. Thanks to all the Brothers that made this possible and helped with this most impressive degree.

RELIEF: WB George
Faulkner, PM is doing about the same since his stroke.
He is driving around in the Chalmette area and still goes places he
used to frequent. Once in a
while he will visit the Lodge and we hope to see him more active since he
has a better vehicle to drive. Brother
Bobby Sonnier, J.W., said that his wife had her right carotid artery
operated on and will be having the left side completed by July 13th.
She is walking around now and giving Bobby hell!
That is a sign that she is feeling well again.
Good Barbara, give the old man hell.
We are all glad to hear that you are recuperating well.
Rt. W. B.
George Lupo, DDGM is going into the hospital for a chemical test on July
8th. Brother
Sal Tortorich, S.W., will have back surgery on August 10th. WB Joe
Revolta, PM is about the same too. Brethren,
please keep our sick and distressed in your prayers. SECRETARY’S MESSAGE: I
want to let the brothers know that I am very proud to have my son join our
Lodge. Since he was raised on May 26th, he has been
visiting other Lodges with me and has been very active in witnessing and
some cases participating in degrees around the New Orleans area. (Some of his friends have been asking questions and maybe we
will get several more petitions from young men.)
Speaking of petitions, WB Ronald Milliet brought two friends to the
Bring A Friend Social at the Shrine Center and they have both turned in
petitions. I received another
request for a petition through the Internet.
I met the man and was glad to give him a petition. Looks like we may be in the growing stage again!!
For those of you who have already
paid your 2004 Dues, THANKS! ☺
As for the others, Your 2003 dues card, HAS BEEN
EXPIRED since the first of the year!
If you plan to visit another Lodge and are asked for a current dues
card, you could be denied entrance. Please
remit your annual dues of $40.50, plus the optional two
cents a day, which would make the payment total $47.80,
making the check payable to: Ideal Lodge No. 367, mail to Skip
Perez, 3620 Chalona Drive, Chalmette, LA 70043-1510.
Consider your annual dues as a light bill.
Pay before your “LIGHT IN MASONRY” is turned off!
We had to pay our Annual Per Capita to the Grand Lodge, which was
over $400. Also, our Annual
Rent Payment was due on January 1st.
Since we pay our commitments in a timely manner, please pay your
dues in a timely manner. THANKS
IN ADVANCE! Also,
there were NO Newsletters for the months of May & June.
Sorry about this, however, I have been very busy lately and have
not had time to compose a newsletter.
I will try to do better. Also
I have been placing the newsletter on the Internet for all to see and
obtain a copy, if they wish to print it.
