I planned on having several open houses, where we can get together with family and friends and maybe create some interest in Masonry. May 20th will be our third Open House for the year and we plan to have many more. This Bring-A-Friend Night will be a great time to bring that special someone that you have been thinking would be a great Mason. This is your opportunity to show off your Lodge to your family & friends that always want to know what you are doing at Lodge. We have a small local band that will play while we eat and afterwards they will play a few tunes for us in the Lodge Hall too. Hope to see you at the meetings. y REPORT ON THE LAST FEW MEETINGS!On February 19th Ideal Lodge held an Open House/Shrine Night and had the Jerusalem Shrine Recorder (Secretary) as our Guest Speaker. He also brought with him a young man who is a Shriner and one of our burn patients, all grown up, Dan Caro, who was burned all over his head and body and doctors stated that he would never make it, but he did through the help of Shriners Hospitals. Both men gave an outstanding talk on the Shrine Hospitals. No one had a dry eye after Dan spoke. On February 22nd we held an E.A. Degree at a called special meeting and conducted the degree so that the person could start learning his work. He is a very busy person, but has taken time out to learn his Masonic work. We hope to confer the F.C. Degree on him soon.
March 18th we held an Open House to Honor the Eastern Star Members. The Worthy Grand Matron was in attendance and was the guest speaker. Another GREAT Night at the Lodge. 35 present on this night.
April 1st was just the normal business meeting, with plans for the step up night for the following meeting.
April 15th was step up night and the Wardens stepped up and Herman Keller did a wonderful job running the Lodge. Bob Brewton handled the West like a pro and the Lodge ran smoothly as though nothing changed. We have a nice three years going for us with the present Master and the two Wardens too.
May 6th was regular business and planning for the Bring-A-Friend Night on May 20th.
RELIEF: W Bro. Bobby Sonnier, Sr, PM had to step down from the Sr. Warden’s Chair in the 18th Masonic District due to his wife’s health. She now has Alzheimer’s disease and she also fell out the bed several times and he is afraid to leaver her alone. He also has trouble driving at night and would have to rent a hotel for the night and that is just too long for him to be away from her.
